THE EYTHORNE BENEFICE The Eythorne Benefice of the Church of England consists of five Churches, all situated with 5 miles of the Kent village of Eythorne. Four of the Churches are used for weekly worship and between them they offer different types of worship, reflecting the diverse liturgy practised within the Church of England. The fifth church is a redundant church, which has been recently restored and is used for the occasional act of worship. The Churches within the benefice are available for baptisms, weddings and funerals, please contact a member of the clergy for further information. St Nicholas, Barfrestone is situated within the village, and is an historic church, with a unique bell in a tree in the Churchyard. Regular Sunday services are held using as a base the Book of Common Prayer. More information can be found at the Barfrestone Friends website www.barfreston.org.uk | ||

St Pancras, Coldred is situated outside the
village on the Eythorne Road, another historic Church with some Norman
features. Regular Sunday services are held using the traditional language
of the Common Worship. |

St Peter and St Paul, Eythorne and Elvington, is situated between the villages of Eythorne and Elvington, regular Sunday services are held using contemporary language version of Common Worship. The Church has a bell tower and bells are rung at regular intervals. | ||

St Andrew's, Shepherdswell, is situated adjacent
to the Village Green at the top of Church Hill, regular Sunday services
are held using the Common Worship liturgy. Once a month there is Sung
Matins according to the Book of Common Prayer. The Methodist Church join
us in our Sunday worship and once a month there is a service at which a
sermon is preached by a Methodist Minister; the Methodists also lead our
Evening Worship most months. Children are welcome and there is a Junior
Church and an occasional 'all age' service.

All Saints, Waldershare. A redundant Church, recently restored and open daily for visits. The Church
served the Parish of Waldershare and the Waldershare Park Estate and is the resting place for the North family. The Church is used occasionally for worship during the year. Please sign the visitors book if you make a visit. more |
